Rich Meets With Reading High School Students
August 27th, 2018
This past week, Rich met with several rising seniors of Reading Memorial High School to discuss the challenges these students face in and outside of the classroom. The discussion covered topics such as the prominence and dangers of vaping among young people, college affordability and more.
“Meeting Mr. Haggerty was a really great experience for me,” said member of RMHS Class ‘19 Brian Cahill, “you can just tell he’s a genuine guy that truly cares about his constituents. It’s not everyday that someone running for office is willing to take the time out of their busy campaign schedule to talk to younger people, and I really appreciate Mr. Haggerty for doing so. I learned a lot from the conversation and hope to have more like it in the future.”
“I was excited to spend some time talking to our young people about the issues currently facing high school students. It was a productive conversation and I was impressed by how knowledgeable these young men and women were on today’s topics. I think the opinions of our younger people are sometimes overlooked and I was thrilled to hear what they had to say.”
